Out North, in Anchorage, Alaska, put its Initiative Fund Grant towards a number of facility upgrades and improvements. A portion of the grant was used to upgrade the organization’s outdated phone system and install new internet cabling and a new computer and server. The remainder of the grant enabled the organization to install a new boiler and heating controls to replace a 45-year-old system. The replacement of the boiler essentially eliminated all maintenance costs associated with heating the facility. This work was undertaken by RSA engineer Josh Hiltabiddle.
